Why is this stuff free? What's the catch?

Most of these are being offered by the companies in the hopes you will like their product and will purchase it, or another of their products later. This is often one of the best ways to advertise... after all, if you've tried it and like it, you are very likely to get it again later.

Will you send me ...

In short, no, sorry we can't do that. A+ Free Stuff is a directory listing free stuff that's available online. We do not ship any items ourselves. We simply gather a collection of sites offering free stuff and organize them into categories for your convenience.

To get the free stuff, click through the link that you're interested in and follow the directions on that site to request the item.

Are there any free items for people living in Canada?

Yes, now there is :) I've started a section Canadian Free Stuff, its still small.. but it's a start :).

Junk mail reports

A+ Free Stuff does not run a newsletter, and we never email out any advertisements of any kind. If you've received a spam that looks like it's from us, it's a case of forged email headers. Most of the time spammers fake the "Reply To" and many of the headers in an email. Unfortunately, innocent sites are then blamed for it. Just as unfortunate is that there is no way we can remove your email address, since we aren't the ones sending the junk mail.

If you'd like to help us track down the real spammers, please copy the entire email (including full headers) and send them to us or visit Spam Cop. For more information about this, search Google for Forged Email Headers.

Steps to protect yourself:
(This is for any spam mail, not just this particular case.)

  1. Do not click the unsubscribe link. As counter intuitive as that sounds, here's why. Spammers track the accounts that are valuable enough for users to try to protect. Clicking the unsubscribe, or sending back any form of unsubscribe message tells them that not only is that email active, you check it regularly and that it's an important email address to you.
  2. Don't ever, ever, under any circumstances buy anything or visit sites listed in the spam mails. If everyone would just take this one simple step, there'd be no profit in spamming and they'd be forced to stop.
  3. Use one address for your family, friends and other people you trust, and another separate account for everything else. When that one starts getting to much junk, you can abandon it and get another one. (There are many free online email services that are perfect for this.)

I saw you have an RSS feed now, what is that?

You may have also seen them on blogs, basically it's a fast, easy way to keep up with the latest news and updates on the websites you choose.

To read them you need a News Reader (don't worry, it sounds more difficult than it actually is). There are several free ones. Rocket RSS Reader is web based reader and is very easy to use and convenient for people that access the web from different computers. Some browsers now have the ability to use RSS feeds as well. FireFox (my favorite browser!) has "active bookmarks" built right in.

Too add a feed, simply copy its address into your reader and your set to go. If you decide to unsubscribe, all you have to do is delete the link in your reader. They're not sent out like email newsletters, you're requesting a page off a web site just like when visiting any other page online. Since there's no sign up process for them, your privacy is guaranteed!

I didn't get the free stuff, what happened?

While we have no control over when the freebie arrives, here are some helpful tips:
  1. Be sure to fill out all the required form fields in the page.
  2. Make sure you read the requirements and limitations (ie, is it available in your area? etc.)
  3. Most items are shipped within 6 - 8 weeks, some may take longer. (Again, be sure to read their terms, they usually let you know in there how long you should expect to wait.)
  4. Sometimes companies underestimate the quantity that will be requested and run out of stock temporarily, so it may take longer than expected to get them all shipped out.

If you still haven't received it after 8-10 weeks, contact the company offering it and ask them. (Please be patient, polite, and give any relevant details.)

Why do they want my credit card info?

Some offers are free trials, they are hoping you like the product or service and will continue after your free trial is over. If you don't want to continue, you may cancel. Others require you to pay shipping and handling.

Be sure to read the terms of the offer before signing up to avoid confusion.

Why is this offer no longer available?

We try to keep track of all the free stuff offered, but occasionally the promotion will end without us noticing it. Sometimes you may get an error when you click a link because the site offering the item is temporarily down. If this happens just try again later. If it's still down later, or the offer has ended, please let us know so we can remove the link.

I've linked to you on my site, but the image doesn't show up, what's wrong?

There's a few possibilities:

  1. You forgot to save the image and upload it to your server.
  2. You saved it with a different name or uploaded it to a different folder and forgot to edit the code
  3. You're trying to hotlink it from our site (ie, not saving the image at all and trying to call it from our site.)

If you're sure you're not doing any of those things and it still won't work.. I'm afraid I have no idea what could be wrong. Perhaps try using a text link instead.

Would you like to trade links? How do I add an offer?

If the offer / site meets our requirements we'll be happy to add it. Submit it here.
